Bio – Roger Tuttle
Ever since he took sequential photos of an erupting Old Faithful on a family trip to the West, Roger has loved telling stories with his pictures. For years he worked for a newspaper always looking for the best angle to tell the most engaging tale. Moving on to advertising required telling a new story of persuasion and appeal. He now shares photo-improving techniques with university students and loves seeing their "ah-ha" moments. He recently moved to Gold Beach to "remodel" a house near the beach.
Title - Telling Your Story: Getting friends to "Wow!"
Class description: It's easier getting photos today than ever before. Yet, it still takes a lot of work to tell a compelling story. Are you excited to share the photos of your vacation and trip to Gold Beach or do you worry that you'll end up with yawns and distracted looks?
Our "Telling Your Story" class will help you begin your story creation by understanding the tools found right inside your camera (shutter, aperture and ISO) then we show ways to apply composition, use graphic elements, and create a focal point for engaging photos that will make you and your friends say "Wow!"
The two-hour class starts with an overview of your camera then a discussion of story-telling principles, followed by some field shooting. We finish up with an image review and critique of your photos. Hand-outs are included to reinforce discussion principles. Bring your camera to class and get ready to tell some great stories.
This class is designed for casual users to extreme enthusiasts. $25
